Experience Online Classes

Developing a good online class requires having experience in these types of classes. It is highly recommended that you have taken at least one online class prior to beginning the course design process.

You can find online classes in Butte's Search for Classes.
You can also find online classes from other California Community Colleges by going to the California Virtual Campus.
@ONE (The Online Network of Educators) offers short term classes specifically focused on online course design. They offer individual courses as well as two certificates.

On Campus Support

Technology Mediated Instruction provides training and support for faculty use of Canvas and Supplemental Tools. TMI also provides:

Instructional design (planning & development of courses)
Assistance in implementing Principles of Quality Online Teaching
Accessibility assessment of course content
Bulk document scanning & PDF remediation
Evaluation of external content (i.e. OER, LTI, publisher, etc.)
Importing of traditional format quizzes/tests into Canvas
You can also request a meeting for individualized support.
